Yellow House

BACKGROUND/HISTORY 
Description of Charity:Yellow House Society of Kuala Lumpur is an non-profit organisation registered with the Register of Societies, Malaysia.

In 2005, Yellow House was appointed the program partner of the International Child Art Foundation (ICAF) in Malaysia.

It's vision is to provide opportunities through arts to cultivate the potential of children of diverse backgrounds and capacities, with focus on children in residential care, poor communities and those whith special needs.

Yellow House has seen more than 600 children pass its gates. It believes in creating a long-term beneficial association with the cildren instead of a one-off contribution.
Objective:
Yellow House Society's objectives are:-
1. To implement programs and activities that promote learning with emphasis on team spirit and service to others.

2. To foster collaborative efforts with governmental and non-governmental organisations, schoolds, individuals and corporates in community service and development.

At the core of Yellow House Society is its Healthy Arts (HEARTS) framework. The framework was developed by Yellow House Society involving a process where the children's potential and achievements are recognised and nurtured. Programs include creative journalling, academic guidance and reading programs, special needs & arts/music program. The school-based community adoption program is also under way while other programs like Urban Poor and Family Care Program and Big Brothers Big Sisters Program are being developed.

Yellow House also actively promotes social integration for special shildren and helps them discover their special abilities and talents.
