Description of Charity:registered with the Selangor Welfare Department and the Registrar of Societies, for underprivileged children and old folks.

started off Desa Amal Jireh as Rumah Faith in 1985 - a Home for orphans and underprivileged children. In 1992, a Home for the old folks called Faith Eagle's Nest was founded. Today, Desa Amal Jireh has 86 + children from 1 - 18 years of age, 7 old men, 25 full and part timers, 1 Chairman, 1 Supervisor and 12 volunteers.
Objective:
Desa Amal Jireh also known as Jireh Charity Village has 2 Visions:-
1) To provide a living environment to cultivate dignity, respect and self confidence,
2) To cater for the special needs of the mentally and physically challenged.

Currently, Desa Amal Jireh is renting 15 double-storey houses for the children, old folks and administrative purposes. Their Jireh Charity Village which has been built on 4.2 acres of land in Jalan Broga, Semenyih, is already 60% completed. Upon completion, about 200 children and 50 old folks can be accommodated Desa Amal Jireh needs financial help to see the Buildiing Project through.

Any Volunteer Services Needed?:
Yes
Purpose of Volunteer Needs:
Volunteers are needed to give tuition to the children - to guide them in their studies.It would also mean a lot to the children if volunteers could
spend some of their free time with the children.

A librarian is required by the Home to categorize all the books they have at the Home and it would be great if all the children be encouraged to read them in their free time.
